Arctic Jianzhan Tea Cup

The Arctic Tea Cup is a 150 ml Jianzhan cup defined by a white-and-blue crystalline glaze with a cool, ice-like visual character. Its compact form is suited to everyday tea while the crystalline surface gives the piece a distinctive, light-catching finish.

Glaze Character

The glaze belongs to the Crystal / Crystalline family. Its white and blue surface develops natural variation during firing, so the distribution, intensity and pattern of the crystalline character may differ slightly from one cup to another.

Made in Shuiji, Jianyang

Each cup is hand-thrown by experienced local artisans in Shuiji, Jianyang, Fujian, using iron-rich clay and fired at temperatures around 1300°C. It uses a food-safe glaze and reflects the Jian ware tradition associated with Jianyang.
